NOLLYWOOD ACTOR, MR IBU, PLANS FILM ON XENOPHOBIA

The popular actor of Nollywood, Mr. John Okafor, a.k.a Ibu, said he was considering filming a film highlighting the evils of xenophobia. Ibu told reporters in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Friday that the majority of actors would be South Africans, while others would be from Nigeria, Liberia, Kenya, Ghana and Botswana.

He stated that the script of the film was written by gifted writers while planning and pre-production had begun. "I intend to film a film on xenophobia and I will mainly use South African actors who will work with other countries in Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, Kenya and Botswana." in the film, is to go around the table and help promote peace in the long term, "he said. Okafor also said the film would be filmed on South Africa, Kenya and Botswana. "Pre-production is now available. The script is also enabled. When I return to Nigeria, we will meet with the directors and the technical team to discuss the effects of the plot. "When the plot influences our thinking, we would have achieved something," he said. The actor said that the next step would be to visit the countries concerned for the hearings to determine which ones would be eligible to act in the film. Okafor said the Nollywood film industry is still growing and achieving set goals. He also said that he had made more than 300 films since his debut in December 1978. Mr. Adetola Olubajo, president of the Union of Nigeria, said the body would be associated with Okafor for a social cohesion program. "We are planning a program to create synergy and social cohesion between Nigeria and South Africa." This will take place next year and we want Okafor to be part of it, "he said.
