SKRINAD: NIGERIANS TO NOW GET PAID FOR USING SMARTPHONE

Smartphone users across Nigeria can now get additional revenue from their Internet-enabled phones simply by viewing ads. SkrinAd, a mobile application developed by Nigeria, provides a platform for phone users to rent their mobile phone screen as advertising space for companies and organizations and get paid.

Innovation co-founder Jimmy Babatunde revealed that the idea behind the application is to create another stream of revenue for phone users to meet their daily bills, such as air time, cable TV subscription, electricity bill, between others, as well as make the transfer to your bank account (s). "As Nigerians, we were concerned about the dedication of data users and the Internet to the monthly subscription of data plans without any direct benefit. Every day, Internet users are with various digital ads to see, but not therefore we look at how to create a win-win platform for both phone users and advertisers in such a way that advertisers will have to pay phone users to see ads that naturally interest them. " Jimmy revealed that the application took into consideration the dissatisfaction of phone users with unnecessary pop-up advertisements and the drain of battery life, therefore, SkrinAd was created to display only when the user's phone is in state inactive and designed in such a way that it works in low power mode. Users also have the freedom to choose what type of ad they want to see, since SkrinAd is a targeted platform that seeks to eliminate advertising waste since the customer no longer has to pay for exposure that never happened, he said. SkrinAd was launched on July 1, 2017 and is now available on Google Playstore while the iTunes Store is coming soon.
