Chidoka, who spoke at the official launch of his campaign on the occasion of a mammoth crowd in Amorka Uli on Saturday, also unveiled and presented the UPP's Isi-Agu (tiger head) emblem as the symbol eternal Igbo consciousness. In a statement made available to journalists by its campaign director, Media, Viola Ifeyinwa Okolie, Chief Chidoka who was the Minister of Aviation in the Federal Republic of Nigeria and two-time Corps Marshall of the Nigerian Federal Road Safety Corps also said the direct Demand for the sixth state in the southeast is significant as it comes on the eve of the celebration of the 57th Independence Day. An enormous crowd of fans, waving their voters card, made a jubilation and affirmative songs when Chidoka, accompanied by UPP National President, Chief Chekwas Okorie, Debe Ojukwu, son of Biafra leader Dim Odimegwu Ojukwu, among others, took the step to raise the UPP flag with its logo isi-agu. Chidoka, who prayed to God to hear the prayers of the people of the South-East and to put an end to the many challenges facing the region, pledged to undertake a new commitment that would put an end to what he called "the marginalization and repression of the Ndigbo, "promising to defend the creation of a sixth state in the southeast as part of the renewed commitment to ensure equity in the region. According to him, "while we salute all those who legitimately or otherwise pursued the struggle, we declare today that we are entering a new frontier. The Igbo voice against marginalization and injustice will not be realized in the streets. "It will rather be won with a determined commitment from our institutions of government and with other Nigerians who feel aggrieved to redefine the meaning of Nigeria and eliminate the inequalities that have removed the drafts of discord and restructure our nation in the sense justice, equality and fairness. "To this end, my election as governor of Anambra State will begin with a single agenda; an agenda to ensure a new state for the Southeast region to bridge the gaps we face. We will immediately, at the inauguration, in accordance with section. 8 (1) of the 1999 Constitution, bring together our members of the National Assembly of Anambra State, our elected members of the House of Assembly and presidents of local governments to sign a request to the National Assembly requesting a referendum for the sixth Southeast State. "We will vigorously engage our friends from other states in the National Assembly and other states, the House of Assembly for a new state." Nigeria must make a decision on the issue of additional state for the southeast before the end of the 8th Assembly and the 2019 elections, "he added, adding that, when this is done, he will be ready for another election. Chidoka also argued that there were no terrorists in the southeast, adding that the nation should not consider the Igbo's self-taught quest as a terrorism. "We can not be a nation where people are hated, marked, and then harassed and ostracized." We are here to state that there are no terrorists in our state, there are no terrorists in our region and we do not feel terrorized as a people. "Indeed, without further argument, we do not believe that those who demand a restructured Nigeria or even dismemberment of Nigeria are terrorists. No! They are not, "he said. Thousands of supporters at the flag ceremony waved their voter cards by expressing their eligibility and willingness to vote for Chidoka and UPP as new hope for their quest. personal expression and fairness in Nigeria.
