Also for allegedly freezing the accounts of Dame Jonathan, the Senate summoned Managing Directors of some banks to appear before her. They must appear before Senator Samuel Anyanwu (PDP, Imo Este) committee, who will listen to the request of Mrs. Jonathan. In the petition submitted to the Senate Committee on behalf of Ms. Jonathan by Granville Abibo, SAN, the former First Lady complained that both the EFCC and the National Drug Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, had "unleashed terror, dehumanizing , degrading and despicable treatment ", about her and her relatives without justification. According to the petition, the frozen accounts of the seven banks include those of the companies, Pluto Property and Investment Company Limited, Seagate Property Development Investment Company and Transocean Property and Investment Limited. Senators were also informed that the story of their non-governmental organization, the Women for Change Development Initiative, the Aruera Foundation, as well as Finchley Top Homes Limited and the former First Lady's salary account had been frozen. . The petition said: "The accounts of his brothers, Innocent Nyegerefaka, Mohammed Oba and Esther Oba had been frozen by the EFCC without a court order, all because they are Dame Patience Jonathan's blood relations." In his speech, Commission President Anyanwu, who issued the call, however, insisted that Managing Directors should appear in person, as the committee will not accept any representative. Meanwhile, EFCC acting president, Magu was absent at yesterday's hearing. In a letter to the committee, the EFCC explained that Magu was out of the country, therefore unable to attend the meeting, adding that he will return today and in this context, the Committee set tomorrow for Magu's appearance. In related development, Patience Jonathan's lawyer told the Senate Committee that they had resolved their differences with the NDLEA and would therefore like to get their name out of the petition before the Senate. But speaking to the committee, Patience Jonathan's lawyer, Charles Ogboli, said the accounts of the former first lady and her relatives were frozen without any EFCC warrant, adding that this culminated in the death of Jonathan's brother , Lázaro Eware.
